Heathcote has a temperate climate with cooling winds blowing from the south. The Cambrian, calcium-rich soil in the region is prized for its red colour, depth and excellent water retention, limiting the need for irrigation through the growing season. These natural factors combine to produce small, concentrated and complex fruit defined by their inky depth of colour, which in turn generates voluptuous and well-balanced wine for which Heathcote is recognised. Relm wine is classically Heathcote being full bodied with succulent fruit of plums and dark berries. The integration of oak through maturation leads to a well-rounded and balanced wine, beautifully dark in colour and with gorgeous chocolate aromas. The depth and intensity of Relm wine suggests it is best enjoyed with red meat and can pair nicely with rich sauces. However, we suggest that they are best drunk at any time that you choose! In 2020, Relm produced its inaugural bottled vintage of Riesling and shiraz.
